Responsibilities and Duties

The Production Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the company's production to ensure an efficient and feasible production plan. The role entails overall responsibility for translating customer orders into a balanced and realistic production plan, weighing capacity, material availability, and delivery requirements.

As a Production Planner, you will work both operationally and tactically with planning on a short and medium-term horizon. You ensure that production has the right prerequisites to deliver according to plan, while identifying deviations and driving actions to optimize flows, lead times, and resource utilization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for releasing and planning customer orders.
• Detailed planning of manufacturing orders and balancing capacity between production sections in consultation with production supervisors/management.
• Ensure that the approved production plan is feasible based on capacity, material availability, and priorities.
• Act as an active link between master planning, material planning, and production regarding planning, follow-up, and changes.
• Identify capacity shortages or imbalances and propose actions, such as reprioritization or capacity adjustments.
• Continuously coordinate and align the production plan with production.
• Monitor production results against the plan.
• Generate reports, key figures, and statistics related to production planning.
• Support master planning and production management in prioritization and decision-making.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of planning processes, working methods, and system support.
• Actively participate in improvement and change management within the organization.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in logistics, planning, or equivalent.
• Experience in production planning, preferably within the manufacturing industry or order-driven production.
• Good understanding of production flows, capacity planning, and material control.
• Good knowledge of ERP systems.
• Knowledge of advanced planning tools (APS systems) is an asset.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Good analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented way of working.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills as the role involves many points of contact.
